So here I am tring to write under pressure. I don't write well under pressure. When this happens to me for a class I just ploop out crap. Short crap.
ummm... yeah... non-writer's block
5 minutes later
ummmmm..... here is a review of what we have been talking about in PHIL231
Morality/Justice
Def #1: Justice is paying back your debts and telling the truth
Counter: Your friend loans you a gun, then comes back later wanting to back. But. Your friend in insane and is going to kill someone with it if you give the gun back. What ist he moral thing to do? Not give it back right? But that goes against this definition.
Def #2: Justice is helping your friends and harming your enemies.
Counter: How do you treat those 99% of people who are neither your friends or enemies.
Def #3: Justice is giving to one what he/she is due.
Counter: How do you know what they are due?
Def #4: Justice is the advantage of the stronger. This means politically strong. So basically the ruler sets what is justice and moral.
Counter: Rulers make mistakes therefore would make wrong justice and moral decisions
So basically we are going to spend the next several weaks reading Plato to determine what justice is. What is your definition of justice? I will counter it.
