Well I am bored and have some time before my first class today, so I thought I would write about what I have been learning in school.
MU221 Jazz Styles: Today is my midterm in this class. This class is my favorite before the subject matter is cool and the class isn't hard. I have learned about lot of things about jazz artists that I didn't know. So far my favorite artists that we have covered are Art Tatum, Count Basie, and Thelonius Monk. CHEM124: This class kinda sucks. There is quite a bit of work to do, like lab write ups and such. We just finished learn about atomic theory, quantum numbers, line spectra, etc.. 1s2s2p3s3p4s3d...... Now we are moving to bonding, covalent, ionic, and metalic. Have a mini lab today.
BIO213: I have mixed feelings about this class. There is no homework in the class which is nice. Sometimes the subject matter is interesting and sometimes I am ready to fall asleep (sorry maya). My friend and I left half way through yestedays lecture but it was boring. We were going through in excruciation detail the process of photosythesis. The teacher good, but i dunno we just were falling sleep.
ENGR213: This is the compainion class to BIO213. Every two weeks we have a different lecturer. All sort os random topic related to bioengineering. My feelings about that class really depend on the subject matter and the teacher. So far I would give this class a C grade.
CSC206: This is the follow up class to last quarters CPE205. Haha, what can I say about this class. Umm.... die. Everyone in the class hates going to it. So much work to do for such a little result. My team is tottally not organized and it hurts my grade. Some members of my team (8 people total on team) are cool, some are annoying. Plus this is my early 8am class that goes until 11am, half lecture, half lab. Our teacher is boring as hell, and does give us great directions about stuff. We do a lot of self learning. oh well. One possitive thing about the class is that I have learned a lot.
Jazz Band: Jazz band is pretty cool. We have a good set of music and the band is pretty nice. It is different being in a smaller big band. Not in a bad way, just different. The best player in the band (besides yours truly ,haha, jk) is our piano player. She can solo like a mofo. We have a concert not this weekend but the weekend after. Too bad it was scheduled on the three day weekend, it would have been nice to come home and see my puppies and some friends. I guess that will have to wait until later.
Wind Orchestra: I am not a big fan of our set of music this time. Two of the songs are somewhat fun, the rest are more woodwind pieces. The other bass trombonist is a cool guy. We just sit and talk like trombonists the whole rehersal like graham and I used to do. Make fun of the woodwinds and the director, laugh about wanting a third lung (long story). haha.
Well that is all my classes. Most of the rest of the time is spend sleeping, eatting, or on my computers. Ahh the like of a computer science major.
